TF supports school and community based activities, child friendly schools and safe spaces for
children (including support for early childhood development, and dissemination of national
policies on school health and gender in education), targeted provision (scholastic materials) for needy children and youths aimed at promoting enrolment and retention, linking the needy to bursary schemes and scholarship programs for further education, and sanitary towels provision for school-going needy girls(MHM).
Construction of schools and renovations and installation of amenities such as desks and
blackboards. Conduct training of teachers within the various localities, development of
accelerated learning programs curriculum and adult literacy.
Schools saving clubs will continue to be supported to ensure balancing of social learning and
financial concepts thus enabling children understand their self-worth, rights and how to manage their resources (Aflatoun method). This will be achieved through collaboration with the National, State and County governments, MOE and Children’s department. The Program
works with MOE to link partners and caregivers to continuing adult literacy. The promotion of
children clubs in schools (child rights and health clubs) is a key strategy.
TVET: The program collaborates with a wide range of stakeholders to identify existing
apprenticeship opportunities for vulnerable youth and women, this may also include creating
or expanding new opportunities for apprenticeship. The Program supports youth and women
to enroll in technical, and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions within the
target communities, based on their interest and capacity to effectively participate in formal
skills training. In addition, Titi Foundation leverages existing opportunities for life skills
strengthening by linking youths and women to other projects and support to increase ‘soft
skills’ to facilitate entry into the workforce. Through these efforts, Titi Foundation supports
young people from targeted households and communities to gain access to skills training that
will prime them for entry into the job market, or creation of micro-enterprises.
