Gender Based Violence(GBV)
TITI Foundation addresses the widespread gender-based violence (GBV) affecting women and children in South Sudan, where weak legal enforcement and limited public awareness have left many vulnerable. The Foundation promotes gender equality and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) as fundamental human rights, working to challenge harmful gender norms, reduce the impact of GBV, and influence policies that promote equality. Through social work–based case management, TF provides individualized support and coordinates essential services for survivors. It also empowers women economically through skills training and access to income-generating activities, helping to reduce financial dependency and vulnerability to exploitation. Additionally, TITI Foundation raises awareness on SRHR among young women and plans to establish safe houses offering temporary shelter and protection for GBV survivors.
Women and children in South Sudan continue to experience various forms of violence, largely due to weak legal frameworks and limited enforcement mechanisms that fail to hold perpetrators accountable. As a young nation still grappling with governance and awareness challenges, gender-based violence (GBV) remains widespread. In response, TITI Foundation works to restore hope and promote gender equality as a fundamental human right through its Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) initiatives. The Foundation’s programs aim to challenge harmful gender norms, mitigate the effects of GBV on SRHR, and advocate for inclusive systems and policies that empower all genders. Through its Gender Equity Initiative, TITI Foundation also promotes equality within its organizational culture. The Foundation employs social work–based case management to provide comprehensive support to survivors, assessing their needs and coordinating essential services. Additionally, TITI Foundation equips GBV survivors with economic empowerment skills to help them achieve self-reliance and engage in income-generating activities, reducing dependence that often leads to exploitation. It also raises awareness about reproductive health, especially among young women, and plans to establish safe houses to offer temporary protection and care for survivors of violence.
